Gulf Commerce Strategy

The strategy has since been implemented.

The study resulted in a restructuring of the company's strategic and business plan, the identification and qualification of U.S. firms for potential acquisition, as well as the development of innovative strategic partnerships leading to new contracts.

Business, Labour and Training Requirements in the Peel Halton Dufferin Regions of Ontario

Feasibility of Internet Delivery and Support for a High Tech Program
Undertaken for a high technology company, the study assessed the feasibility of converting a hydro power plant risk-management program into a new format suitable for delivery and maintenance via the Internet. The study included a detailed survey of requirements and perceptions of potential buyers and decision-makers.

Based on the results of the study, the client decided to proceed with the investment to develop the program and the Internet site. The study played a key role in helping the client to make informed decisions with respect to pricing, program identification, servicing, corporate imaging and marketing.

Energy Demand Management System
The market survey was originally intended to be part of the firm's prospectus to attract venture capital to finance the sales and business development cycle, and to represent the first detailed business plan. The market study was designed to test the market feasibility of the system. A survey questionnaire was formulated and prime prospective customers were identified and qualified. The survey indicated limited prospects for ongoing sales, and played a key role in the corporation's decision to abandon the project and sell the assets to a strategic partner, thereby recouping a part of the original investment and avoiding further costs.

International Capital Projects
Undertaken for a major government trade agency, the study included a detailed analysis of the current international capital projects market, trends, what it takes to compete successfully in the global infrastructure market (including a detailed survey of companies with significant international project experience), and implications for public policy and programs to help companies succeed in the international capital projects marketplace. The study was important to the development of the organisation's strategic and business plan and information base available to companies.

Industry's Information Technology Skills and Training Requirements
Undertaken for a leading educational institution, the study included a survey and assessment of the IT skills and training requirements of key industries in the Greater Toronto Area. The study also tested the commitment of the private sector to hiring program graduates, or supporting the facility in other ways.  Based on the results of the study, the institution decided to defer a planned capital investment, saving millions of dollars in capital and operating costs.
